A Case of Spontaneous Remission of Petoxytosis X

Histiocytosis X(Langerhans cell histiocytosis) is a rare proliferative disorder of Langerhans cells that includes Letterer-Siwe disease, Hand-Sh?ler-Christian disease and eosinophilic granuloma. Since many authors have reported in anintrermediate
and
poorly classified form, histiocytosis X has a nomenclatural and nosologic problem.
We report a case of benign cutaneous variant of histiocytosis X. A four-old boy had shown multiple skin-coloured papules on the trunk. Head and neck for one month. Extensive investigations failed to detect any systenic involvement. The electron
microscopic findings of the skin biopsy specimen were definitely diagnostic for histiocytosis X. Since he did not show evidence of internal organ involvement and any further proguession of the skin lesion, no therapy was given. Ove the next two
months
the disease underwent spontaneous and complete remission.
